Redemption Through Mission: A Personal Testimony
Peru.
My testimony includes God’s redemption of my ability to minister. During my 29-year marriage, I had to fight to go on the couple of mission trips I participated in because I was forbidden from going. But now, God is redeeming those years.
During those years, my heart was drawn to any mission work – so I did what I could do. I determined that if I could not go on mission myself, I could at least gather and send the items the teams needed for ministry.
So, I began ministering out of my home.
Over those years, God helped me network with numerous missionaries worldwide: Ecuador, Peru, Romania, China, El Salvador, Moldova, Nicaragua, Haiti, Cuba, Mexico, and the West Bank, Palestinian territories. The small ministry I ran out of my home sent supplies to 7000+ children in 11 countries. Stuffed animals, dolls, handmade baby blankets, handmade bed comforters, toiletry bags, widow’s sewing kits, clothing, and even items children in orphanages could use to eat were sent to teams and personally handed to children. All were tagged with prayers in their native language and all I required was photos of the children receiving the items.
Was it a battle in my marriage? Absolutely.
But, it is a testimony of God’s faithfulness, and that man will not stop His plan.
Isaiah 14:27 tells us, “For the Lord of hosts has purposed, and who will annul (stop, thwart) it? His hand is stretched out, and who will turn it back?”
Sometimes, following the plans that God has given you is not as easy to implement as it should be.
But take heart.
There is nothing that God purposes that will be thwarted. Do what you can, with what you have, until God opens the door to move you forward.
Do not stop, and do not give up. God will reward your faithfulness with His.
